This is a complete list of Group Types organized by markets. Each Group must fall under a Group Type.

Hierarchy
- Market/vertical - e.g. Investments
- Category - e.g. Clearing firm, Exchange, Investor
- Group Type - e.g. Bank, Family Office, Insurance Company
Basically, Market and Category are two degrees of navigation for organizing the group types. The first degree of category is Market and the second degree is Category (top level directory and sub directory). Within the second degree are Group Types and these are what are actually assigned to the groups and portals.
General
Interest Group
An interest group is a Group organized for the purpose or promoting or discussing a particular subject.
Unlisted Company Type
An unlisted company type is a Group type that is not provided.

Under Investments, there are 6 Group Templates:
Exchange
- Futures Exchange: A futures exchange is a central financial exchange where people can trade standardized futures contracts.
- Stock Exchange: A stock exchange, share market or bourse is a corporation or mutual organization which provides "trading" facilities for stock brokers and traders, to trade stocks and other securities.
- Interbank Exchange: An interbank exchange is a currency exchange where forex transactions occur.
- Over-the-Counter (OTC) Dealer: An OTC dealer is a decentralized market used by various investment instruments.

Clearing Firm
- Broker-dealer (BD): A Broker-dealer is a company that trades securities for customers as well as for its own account.
- Futures Commission Merchant (FCM): A FCM accept orders and payment for commodity futures for execution on a futures exchange.
- Primary Dealer: A primary dealer is a bank or securities broker-dealer that may trade directly with the Federal Reserve System of the United States.

- Fund Manager:
- Commodity Trading Advisor (CTA): A CTA is an investment manager that manages individual commodity futures accounts. By default, all Products are Public.

Broker/Advisor
- Stock Broker: A stock broker or stockbroker is a qualified and regulated professional who buys and sells shares and other securities through market makers or Agency Only Firms on behalf of investors.
- Commodity Broker: A commodity broker is a firm or individual who executes orders to buy or sell commodity contracts on behalf of clients and charges them a commission.
- Foreign Exchange Broker: A forex broker buys and sells currency for clients.
- Investment Advisor (IA): IA is a non-formal designation describing a person or firm in the United States who has registered with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission or state regulatory agency (where the primary business is situated or multiple States in some cases) in connection with the management of the investments of others.

System Developer
- System Developer: A trading system is a collection of formulas and rules that generate buy and sell recommendations from price and volume data.

- Family Office: A family office is a private company that manages investments and trusts for a single wealthy family.

- Investment Company: An investment company is a company that has the ability to invest a significant amount of assets. By default, all Products are Public.
- Pension Fund: A pension fund is a fund where contributions are deposited with a view to funding pensions and other benefits promised to plan members.

- News provider: Like Reuters or Yahoo News. No data input, just a data feed.
- Research & Analysis Provider: A research & analysis vendor provides news and opinion on investment markets and managers.
